Places to Visit in Dorset

Sherborne Castle

You can roam the grounds here and delight in the history of the castle, then enjoy tea and a choice of some really lovely home cooked food (including cakes!) by the lake. Tranquility abounds giving you and your loved one the time out from your usual routine to enjoy your surroundings and one another.  While you're there why not visit their shop where you can purchase their own wine and Sherborne Castle Champagne?

We've tried it and it's great.  For more information visit their website www.sherbornecastle.com

 Blue Pool Wareham

Want to step back in time and enjoy surroundings that feel as though time has been forgotten?  Then Blue Pool near Wareham is just the place.  It has such a feel of peace and oneness with nature and, whenever we have been, it has not been too busy so you have the sense that the place is all yours.  Enjoy a good choice of homemade food in the tearooms where you can sit on the terrace overlooking the water.  Find time to share this most charming setting together to build those shared memories that strengthen or maintain your connection with the one you love.

The gift shop deserves a mention as it has a lovely array of gifts and you are sure to find

something for that special person in your life to cherish and remind them of the special day they shared with you at Blue Pool, Wareham.  www.bluepooltearooms.co.uk

Cerne Abbas Giant

No website focused on bringing the romantic side of Dorset to you would be complete without mention of this renowned gentleman: - The Cerne Abbas Giant.  Mystery surrounds how old he is, but new scientific testing methods could soon change this. It is said that the giant has fertility powers and couples wishing to have a child can tap into these giant powers. The village of Cerne Abbas is small but has a number of pubs for your pleasure. Not to be missed.  Take the Yeovil road out of Dorchester and follow the road signs for Cerne Abbas. www.cerneabbas.com
